Myoon-ji Temple in Ueno

There's this elegant bridge over the water

It's pretty open to the street

Lots of carp in the pond

In the grid of quiet, narrow streets between Ueno and Asakusa, it seems that every time you turn a new corner, you come to another shrine or temple. A pleasant one is Myoon-ji, which has a peaceful atmosphere despite being surrounded by buildings and not shielded by a wall. The charming wooden hall is flanked by a moat-like carp pond, where large fish glide around uncaring of people and noise.
