Just when I thought I'd just doze off during the 40-minute trip to Shuzenji from Mishima on the Izu Hakone Railway Sunzu Line in Shizuoka Prefecture, I found myself enjoying the breathtaking and relaxing views of Izu peninsula from the comfort of the train seats. We passed by long stretches of lush green fields and residential areas, with the huge mountains in the background giving me an impression of a landscape painting. Moreover, despite the laid-back atmosphere of the surroundings, the interior of the train looks very lively and happy with its modern color combination.

Enjoy the breathtaking views of residential and rural Izu peninsula from the comfort of the train
The train that goes from Mishima to Shuzenji then back
The train may look a bit old-fashioned from the outside, but it sure has a neat, colorful and nice interior
Most of the stations were so old, it felt like we were taken back several decades
The green pastures soothed my eyes, a relaxing view from the train indeed
This is where we stop for the Izu-Mito Sea Paradise
Non-stop stretches of lush green fields
The animation in front of the train made it look cute, modern and fun, despite the laid-back and old-fashioned appearance
