Cape Nagasakibana isn't the southernmost point in all of Kyushu but it is at the tip of the Satsuma Peninsula. Offering views of the rocky coast and clear sightings (on most days) of Kagoshima's iconic Mt Kaimon, it's a contemplative location. The brightly-colored Ryugu Shrine, which recounts the tale of a man taken under the sea by a turtle and returned 300 years later, stands a few meters from the water's edge.

For a winter day, we were quite lucky with the weather. We even managed to summit Kaimon-dake as well!

Like you mentioned, the red of the shrine and blue of the sea is a nice contrast. You also had some good luck with the weather!
