On the way to Tokushima, we stopped over at the foot of the Great Akashi Strait Bridge in Maiko, Kobe, and stayed for the night there to enjoy the view of the beautiful bridge. Although we chose the hotel just because it was still available (we made a reservation at the last minute) and the location was convenient (the highway bus for Tokushima departs from the bus stop close to the hotel), it turned out that the place was once the villa of Prince Arisugawa and quite historical. Here, you can enjoy the romantic view of the bridge and its history at the same time. For more information on the hotel and the neighboring area please see my other articles.

Hotel lobby has red-carpeted stairs...you might feel like Scarlett O'Hara of 'Gone with the Wind' if you ran down these stairs...or not?!
Pretty stairs leading to the hotel reception area
